About the Race

The Rockies 24 is located in Canmore Alberta at the world famous Nordic Centre in Kananaskis Country (K-Country) Park. This provincial park is situated at the foot of Mount Rundle within the Canadian Rocky Mountains along Bow Valley and the Trans-Canada Highway, at an elevation of 1,400 m (4,600 ft) and has a surface of 4.5 km2 (1.7 sq mi). It is part of Kananaskis Country’s park system. The Canmore Nordic Centre is a 5 minute drive or short pedal from town center.

The Rockies 24 is a 24 hour team or solo mountain bike event with a looped course approximately 13.1 km in distance with 340 m of elevation gain, containing many classic trails that will satisfy all levels of riders.

The Rockies 24 will take place on July 25-26, 2026. This is the perfect opportunity to take the family for a mountain getaway.

A wide range of accommodation are available including hotels, AirBnB’s and camping. Camping on site for all solo racers and teams is included.

Canmore provides plenty of activities for those not racing. Some of these include hiking, rafting, tours and golf with many restaurants and coffee shops to keep you fuelled. Canmore’s public transit offers several routes to popular hiking and sightseeing destinations in Banff and Lake Louise.

The Rockies 24 spark ignited from a long-time dream of Cory Wallace  to host a 24-hour mountain bike race event.  On August 27-28, 2022, the inaugural Canadian Rockies 24  took place at the Canmore Nordic Centre.  After another 2 successful events in 2023 & 2024, Cory and his team are now carrying the event into year number five this July 24-26. His goal is to provide a World class weekend out riding bikes for riders of all abilities in one of the best venues in the World.

About the Organizer

Head Organizer, Cory is from Jasper, Alberta and has been a professional mountain bike racer for 16 years.  Cory competes in the national and international race circuit and is a Six-time World 24 Hour Mountain Bike Solo Champion. His dream is to keep 24 Hour racing alive and well in Canada and help inspire the next generation of riders.
