Canadian Rockies 24

The Rockies 24 is located in Canmore Alberta at the world famous Nordic Centre in Kananaskis Country (K-Country) Park. This provincial park is situated at the foot of Mount Rundle within the Canadian Rocky Mountains along Bow Valley and the Trans-Canada Highway, at an elevation of 1,400 m (4,600 ft) and has a surface of 4.5 km2 (1.7 sq mi). It is part of Kananaskis Country’s park system. The Canmore Nordic Centre is a 5 minute drive or short pedal from town center.

The Rockies 24 is a 24 hour team or solo mountain bike event with a looped course approximately 13.4 km in distance with 369 m of elevation gain, containing many classic trails that will satisfy all levels of riders.

The Rockies 24 will take place on July 26-27, 2025. This is the perfect opportunity to take the family for a mountain getaway.

A wide range of accommodation are available including hotels, AirBnB’s and camping. Camping on site for all solo racers and teams is included.

Canmore provides plenty of activities for those not racing. Some of these include hiking, rafting, tours and golf with many restaurants and coffee shops to keep you fueled. Canmore’s public transit offers several routes to popular hiking and sightseeing dentations in Banff and Lake Louise.

The Rockies 24 spark ignited from a long-time dream of Cory Wallace and Leighton Poidevin to host a 24-hour mountain bike race event. After many years of battling each other out on the trails, Cory and Leighton teamed up to turn their passion for 24-hour racing and dreams of organizing their own 24-hour event into reality. On August 27-28, 2022, the inaugural Canadian Rockies 24  took place at the Canmore Nordic Centre.  After another succesfull event in 2023, Cory is now carrying the event into year number three this July 27-28. His goal is to provide a World class weekend out riding bikes for riders of all abilities in one of the best venues in the World.

Head Organizer, Cory is from Jasper, Alberta and is professional mountain bike racer on the Kona Factory Team. Cory competes in the national and international race circuit and is a Five-time World 24 Hour Mountain Bike Solo Champion.
